How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign is possible because of 3D technology. We start with a 3D scan of your teeth to simulate how your smile can be corrected. From the computer simulation a series of aligners are 3D-printed in America, and arrives within 2 weeks. You wear the aligners every day, for 90% of the time (22 hours). Each aligner is slightly different and gently pushes on the teeth into the correct position. You change the aligners yourself at home each week, so there are fewer visits – handy if you work away or travel frequently.
Invisalign is much more comfortable compared to fixed braces. The aligners are smooth so they don’t rub on your lips or cheeks, and the pressure on the teeth is mild compared to the adjustment of wire braces.
